King County has plans to replace an aging South King County recycling center with a state-of-the-art upgrade in Algona. Valley and Township of North Algona Wilberforce, all located within Renfrew County.

The state-of-the-art facility in Algona is expected to open in 2026. Transfer stations and the landfill are operated by King County. The total minimum fee is rounded to the nearest 0.25 (King County Code 10.12.030) Must meet the criteria as defined in King County Code, Title 10.
